Looks like John Abraham wants to take his interest in sports to the next level. How else would you explain his plans to make films on varous sports?
Now, the actor is set to take up a movie based on football (he has already had a stint with soccer in his 2007 film, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal). It will be directed and written by Shoojit Sircar, who has already teamed up with John on films like Vicky Donor (2010), that the actor produced, and the upcoming Madras Café.
John is already slated to make a film on bike racing, in addition to a boxing film (which might even star international boxer David Haye). 'Shoojit has about a dozen interesting scripts and one of them happens to be about football. He feels John is perfect for the film because he has a great body, besides a strong liking for the sport,' adds an industry insider. The film will be made under John’s banner.
Apparently, John and Shoojit have already discussed the idea. 'But there’s no confirmation on the start date yet,' adds the insider. 'The film is definitely on the cards since John wants to make an authentic sports film on football.'
When contacted, John didn’t give out too many details, only saying, 'It’s too premature to talk about the film yet."
