Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone-starrer Chennai Express has kicked off to a good start with almost 85-90% occupancy in theatres across the country. This Rohit Shetty's directorial venture has already set up record at the box office collecting Rs. 6.75 crore at domestic box offices through paid previews alone on Thursday night.
Chennai Express surpasses the paid-preview collections' record set by 3 Idiots at Rs. 2.7 crore.
The comic caper has made decent collections at foreign ticket windows as well.
The overall collection for Thursday in UK was £ 142,220 while in Australia and New Zealand A$ 38,315 and NZ$ 8,058, respectively.
The final figures for the Friday are yet to come.
