Andres Iniesta signed a contract extension until 2018 with Spanish champions Barcelona.
'I am very happy with this. I am pleased to extend my contract with this great club,' said the 29-year-old midfielder.
'I will be 34 when this contract finishes, which means that I will probably finish my career as a Barca player. I hope my performances remain as good as they are now.'
Iniesta has played 480 games for Barca in all competitions, since 2002, scoring 48 goals. He has helped the Catalans to win three Champions Leagues and six Spanish Ligas.
In addition, he has won 94 caps for Spain since 2006, scoring 11 goals — including the winner in the 2010 World Cup final against the Netherlands. Iniesta was also important in Spain’s triumphs at Euro 2008 and Euro 2012.
