"In the matter of policies, particularly the economic policy, this court does not interfere under its power of judicial review unless the impugned policy is found to be grossly arbitrary, unfair and unreasonable...we are not the expert of such matters...," said a Bench of Justices R M Lodha and Madan B Lokur.
The Bench also noted Additional Solicitor General Sidharth Luthra's submissions that the the CIL had complied with all the norms of stock valuation and got approvals from the SEBI at each and every stage. The Bench said the price band of Rs 226-Rs 245 per share was fixed after following the due process of valuation by established methodologies. The PIL was filed by Ehsan Khalid, a retired Squadron Leader.
