NEW DELHI:Sh Pranay Sahay, DG CRPF was today given a warm farewell at a parade organized at Group Centre, Kadarpur, Gurgaon. Sh Sahay retires after an illustrious career of 38 years. A total of 8 Sectors of CPRF including Mahila Sector participated in the parade.
In his address, Sh Pranay Sahay, DG CRPF praised the parade and saluted the martyrs. He said that from his experience of serving in many Central Forces and State Police Forces, he can say that the spirit of fighting and willpower is most apparent in men of CRPF. He said that on the operational front CRPF has achieved good results in last year and the current year.
He hoped that the Force will sustain this momentum. He said that the Ministry of Home Affairs has agreed to a proposal to introduce one more post of Head Constable in each section, which will in turn speed up the promotion of Constables to the rank of Head Constable. He lauded the role of Rapid Action Force and CoBRA for doing a yeoman service to the Nation. Sh Sahay stressed upon the need to build more accommodations and quarters for the families of officers and jawans, so as to achieve the required satisfaction level. Laying emphasis upon training, he stressed the need to induct more specialized personnel in the Force.
He also said that the recruitment of women in the Force should be increased and hoped that it will be 5% of the total Force in the coming days. He thanked the Union Home Minister, both MoS Home, Home Secretary, officials of MHA & officials of Directorate, CRPF for being cooperative.
In the beginning a memento was presented to the DG by Dr. A.P.Maheshwari, IGP Northern Sector. The welcome address was delivered by Sh D.S.Lakha, DIG Group Centre, Gurgaon. Smt. Aruna Bahuguna, Special DG NES & Works, Sh. D.K. Pathak, Special DG J & K Zone, Sh Vivek Dube, Addl DG (Training), Sh P.V.K.Reddy, Addl. DG (HQ), other senior officers, jawans and their family members were present in large number on the occasion.
