Chandigarh: The Haryana government on Tuesday shunted out IAS officer Pradeep Kasni who had recently objected to Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda's move to appoint commissioners to two commissions. Kasni was among seven IAS officers who were issued transfer orders yesterday.

Kasni, who was secretary at the Administrative Reforms Department, has been shifted to Command Area Development Authority (CADA), Panchkula to fill the vacant post of Administrator. Kasni will also look after the work of Project Director, Haryana Aids Control Society, Panchkula, an official release said.

A controversy had erupted over Chief Minister Singh Hooda administering the oath of office to two new members of the State Information Commission and three of the commissioners of the Right to Service Commission barely an hour after the new Governor took charge on July 28, with the Opposition terming the move as "unconstitutional".

In the file noting, Kasni had written that no appointment letters could be issued as the persons recommended, including the two SICs, were holding an office of profit at the time of their appointment.

In other transfers, Deputy Commissioner of Mewat at Nuh R C Verma becomes Deputy Commissioner of Rewari, replacing C G Rajini Kaanthan, who has been posted as Special Secretary, Home-II Department, Joint Commissioner, Gurdwara Elections and Administrator, HUDA, Panchkula in place of Sanjay Joon, who has been posted as Deputy Commissioner, Mewat at Nuh.
