Day 6: Agitation for United Andhra intensifies

Students of Andhra University in Vizag and Sri Krishnadevaraya University in Anantapur clashed with the police. Business and commercial establishments, offices and road transport remained shut across coastal and Rayalaseema districts. Protesters blocked highways and roads bringing traffic to a standstill as school teachers also joined the protests. Pilgrims were stranded at Tirupati as the state road transport corporation. Police detained members of United Andhra Joint Action Committee who were sitting on fast in Vizag, Kurnool and Anantapur.
