New Delhi : With the arrest of accused Jammal s/o Sardar Singh r/o Vill Barhi, PS Gannaur, Distt Sonipat, Haryana, a sensational case of firing in road rage in the area of West Patel Nagar, Delhi has been solved. The incident had taken place on 21-08-2014 in the area of PS Patel Nagar, Central District.
INCIDENT
On 21.08.14 at about 9.49 pm a PCR call was received that a person named Vipin Rajput S/o Sh Rudra Kumar Verma ,R/o 37/10 West Patel Nagar, a property dealer by profession has been shot by someone. He sustained bullet injury in his stomach and was admitted in B L Kapoor hospital. On Subsequent inquiry, it was revealed that the victim had an altercation with three persons near his office R S V properties block No. 24 West Patel Nagar when his car touched them while he was reversing it. After that the trio walked away but enraged by this behavior of theirs, the victim followed them in his car and tried to stop them by halting his car close to them and in the process hitting them again. Taken aback by the behavior of the victim, the trio retaliated and challenged the victim, who came out of the car .A scuffle broke out among them and in the midst of it one of the assailants fired a shot injuring the victim on stomach. The victim was rushed to the hospital by his friend who was accompanying him in his car. Subsequently a case vide FIR No.599/14 dt 21.8.14 U/s 307/34 IPC was registered at P.S. Patel Nagar in this regard and the investigation was taken up by SHO/Patel Nagar, Insp Ranjeet Dahiya under the supervision of ACP Patel Nagar Sh Rajeev Midha.
TEAM
A team comprising of Insp. Ranjit Dahiya/SHO Patel Nagar, Insp. Joginder Singh/ Insp Investigation, SI Vinay Kumar, Ct Satender, Ct Surender and Ct Vijay, along with team of special staff under Insp. Satender Mohan, Inspr. Special Staff was formed under the supervision of ACP Patel Nagar.
INVESTIGATION
During investigation local inquiries were conducted and CCTV footage was also obtained from a house near the place of incident. The CCTV footage had captured the incident. On the basis of it a massive verification drive was launched covering the area of Faridpuri and 24, 25 blocks of West Patel Nagar in which side the assailants had escaped. Hundreds of houses were checked under this exercise. During this exercise one of the land lady identified one of the three assailants who had rented a room in her house for a rent of Rs 4000/- per month but had moved out on 22nd itself, a day after the incident. The details of his identification documents were obtained and thereafter a massive hunt was launched to trace him. The help of technical surveillance was also taken and finally his location was traced somewhere in Sonepat District. The team was rushed to Sonipat Haryana which camped in the area for two days and their efforts bore fruits when one of the assailants Jammal s/o Sardar Singh R/o Vill- Barhi, Distt. Sonipat was apprehended from his hideout ( Vill. Raipur, Haryana). His interrogation led the police to other two accused Shiv Kumar @ Toni and Jatin Khatri, both R/o Gannaur, Haryana. Raids at their hideouts revealed that the duo are in judicial custody in case FIR No. 312/14 U/s 393/506/34 IPC & 25/54/59 Arms Act, PS Gannaur. Enquiries therein revealed that on the following day after the shootout at Delhi the duo made an unsuccessful attempt to rob the owner of a motor workshop at Gannaur market wherein they were caught on the spot and after arrest sent in judicial custody.
PREVIOUS INVOLVEMENTS:
Initial Enquiries revealed that one of the three accused namely Shiv Kumar @Tony who fired a shot was involved in another case of robbery vide FIR No. 468/13, U/s 392/34 IPC PS Gannaur Haryana.
