The BCCI has called an emergent working committee meeting here on Saturday to discuss the ramifications of banned former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi’s possible re-entry into the Rajasthan CA.
The BCCI’s affiliate units have received a circular in this connection. It is learnt that the key agenda of the meeting is Modi and the future of Rajasthan’s state teams. There are also reports that hint at alienation of the RCA if Modi were to come back.
Modi was cleared by the Supreme Court recently to contest the elections to the RCA. The results are set to be announced on January 6 after the sealed ballot box is opened in Delhi. In September, the BCCI had imposed a life ban on Modi after he was charged with financial irregularities during his stint as IPL commissioner.
