'Radical' links: Bahrain deports US teacher
Cairo: Bahrain deported a US citizen teaching there over her "radical" writings on Twitter and websites as the gulf kingdom cracks down on dissent. A statement Saturday from the Ministry of State for Communications said the teacher published articles about Bahrain that "were deemed to incite hatred against the government and members of the royal family.'' The ministry said the woman, whom it did not identify, also violated the terms of her work permit by working illegally as an unaccredited journalist. AP
Chris Brown suffers seizure in studio
Los Angeles: Rapper Chris Brown allegedly suffered a seizure while at a recording studio in Hollywood but refused treatment from emergency services. The 24-year-old singer was at Record Plant recording studios in Hollywood when he collapsed and his companions placed a 911 call, saying he had a seizure, reported TMZ online. However, Brown was responsive at the scene, refusing treatment and transportation to hospital. PTI
Indian-American gets life term for murder
Washington: A man found guilty of killing a fellow Indian-Americanhas been sentenced to life in prison without parole for 35 years. Gurpreet Singh Gosal, 28, was sentenced for the second degree murder of 26-year-old Parmjit Singh Pamma outside the Bradshaw gurdwara in Sacramento on August 31, 2008. Houston: Signs banning Muslims from using a shopping centre's parking lot mysteriously appeared in a city in Texas, generating massive outrage. The posters, which read "No Muslim parking in the Westview Shopping Center," were seen outside the mall across the street from a mosque, a local TV station reported. PTI
