Army chief arrives in Jammu, lays wreath on the bodies of killed soldiers

Army chief general Bikram Singh arrived in Jammu on Wednesday morning. The chief laid the wreath at the bodies of five jawans who died in an ambush by Pakistan soldiers and terrorists in Poonch sector late on Monday night.

The army chief is scheduled to visit forward posts in Poonch and also the site of incident, but because of inclement weather, hasn’t been able to reach there and is camping at army base camp in Nagrota, 30-km from Jammu city.Army has pushed in more troops along the area . The cross line-of-control trade has been suspended for two-week. Tension has also gripped the Poonch town, as people are apprehending major assault by Indian troops.
