The Hrithik Roshan-Sussanne Roshan split hogged limelight all through Friday, even as the actor’s wife broke her silence with a statement, asking for their privacy to be respected.

In a note to the press, 35-year-old Sussanne said, 'We are two individuals who respect & care for each other & have made our own individual choices. We are parents to two wonderful kids & our responsibility remains to protect & take care of them. Nothing can change that.' Hrithik, meanwhile, wrote on Facebook that agreeing to end his 13-year old marriage is his ‘tribute to love’.

Reports suggest that Sussanne, who is currently living with her parents, will now move to a flat in Mumbai’s Bandra area with her two sons. This, even as on Friday, Sussanne’s father, actor Sanjay Khan said that it isn’t yet over for the couple, 'Like any other normal couple, they also have some issues. Just because Hrithik is a superstar, doesn't mean he will not have personal issues. It's just that they need space. Of course this is not a closure. To resolve issues, may be this is what they thought was good.'

Sussanne’s friendship with actor Arjun Rampal and differences with in-laws— filmmaker Rakesh and Pinky Roshan— have been cited by Mumbai tabloids as reasons for the split. Rampal did not reply to our query in this regard. Meanwhile, Rakesh Roshan said, 'There is no truth in this and I do not want to elaborate. Just leave them and respect their privacy.' Sussanne’s sister, jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali, tweeted, 'Sometimes a couple needs space 2 work things out without d 'concern' others are most keen to show. If u 'care' just keep them in ur prayers.'
