Sreesanth is set to play the lead in a multi-lingual South Indian film. The cricketer was recently cleared by the court on all match-fixing charges and couldn’t be a happier man.
"This is my debut film in South and I am going to work with a big filmmaker like Sana Yadireddy. I can't ask for more. I am looking forward for a good acting career in South," Sreesanth said.
The film will be directed by Sana Yadireddy and will be made in Tamil,Telugu and Malayalam. It will also be dubbed in 14 languages. Sreesanth has said that he is excited about it because he wants to explore another side of life.
Yadireddy said Sreesanth is not only a good cricketer, but he is a superb dancer and actor. "I have seen him performing at many events and always wanted to work with him. When we narrated the story, he liked it very much and gave his nod immediately. The film will be in the backdrop of cricket and has a very good love story in it," he said.
The film reportedly revolves around IPL and cricket. The director has stated that the movie will go on floors in September and be completed in six months time. There is also a romantic track but no details have been revealed about who will play the leading lady in the film.
In the two years that the trial was on, Sreesanth appeared on numerous TV programmes and even signed on to play a negative role in Bollywood in Pooja Bhatt's Cabaret. The cricketer has already proved he is a good dancer on “Jhalak Dhikhhla Jaa”. Now it remains to be seen how good his acting prowess is.
