During CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Sony Pictures and DreamWorks Animation confirmed that 21 Jump Street will soon be back on the big screen. According to news released by Sony Pictures, young police officers Schmidt and Jenko will be back on duty in 2014. Jonah Hill, who stars in the movie with Channing Tatum, is currently working on a screenplay, with filming to begin in fall 2013.
The first installment of 21 Jump Street by Phil Lord and Chris Miller made over $200M at the box office when it was released last year. The stars of the series that inspired the film, Johnny Depp and Holly Robinson Peete, also made cameo appearances.
Meanwhile, DreamWorks did not say anything about the sequel of its animated movie, The Croods. The movie, which was released in March in the United States, has done very well, having made almost $400M at the box office.
