Filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee says his segment in Bombay Talkies, about parenthood, has been influenced by his daughter.

"My daughter is an influence on my film. To a daughter, a father can do no wrong. So you have to be this hero, otherwise you fail your child. It is a wonderful position to be in," Banerjee, who is married to Richa Puranesh, told NU.

"The story is about parenthood, I couldn't have made the film three years back as my daughter wasn't there with me," said the director of films like Khosla Ka Ghosla and Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!.

He feels that a child doesn't judge you.

"But they want you to be the best thing in their life. Everyone judges you except that child. I could have had a miserable flop, but when I would come back to my child, I would be the hero," he said.

Bombay Talkies is a compilation of four short films celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema. Others who have contributed to it are Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar.
