Havells India has invested Rs.50 crore at its motor plant at Neemrana to manufacture pumps. According to a company release, it is targeting Rs.100 crore turnover from the pump business in the first year. The plant is manufacturing 10,000 units a month now and will increase it to 25,000 units a month in another three months.

A. V. Jagdish, Vice-President of Havells India, told presspersons here on Thursday that the domestic pumpset market includes pumps for agricultural and residential applications. The size of the market for pumps used in houses is Rs.2,000-2,500 crore. With the launch of self-priming monoblock pumps, it was targeting this segment, he said.

The company has also launched Metalica and Metalica Divine series distribution boards.

The market for distribution boards in the country is worth Rs.600 crore and the company does about Rs.100 crore now. It is looking at about Rs.225 crore in another three years. The product would be available in the market from April, he said.
