Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday announced Rs. 1 crore reward to ace tennis player Sania Mirza on her winning the U.S. Open Mixed Doubles grand slam title recently.

Ms. Mirza will call on the Chief Minister in the afternoon to receive her reward. It was in July this year the State Government had given the reward after making her the Brand Ambassador of Telangana.

On her return from the U.S. after winning her grand slam title Ms. Mirza dedicated her win to the people of Telangana and the country. She had thanked the State Government’s cooperation in her preparation to the U.S. Open.
